MY LOST COUNTRY

BAGDAD 1.jpeg

“My lost country” rescues the memory of the great theater director Mohsen Yasin, through the feelings of Ishtar, his daughter, who was raised in Latin America.

Ishtar gets into Mohsen's universe, his artistic experience , that was developed in the middle of the colonial oppression, the dictatorship, the war, and the exile.

Iraq was destroyed. Generations of iraqis were forced to leave their country and work  out of their land. It is necessary the new generations to know their artists, so they can recover and build the cultural memory.

All the continents are in this film. It is a ritual, an evocation, a conjuration; is cyclical, like sumerian cosmologies. There is a thread of time and also an emotional thread, with hopes, desires, love between a father and daughter, through historical, political, social events; life events, just like that.
