ASTARTÉ FILMS

Astarté Films is an production house created in 1998, by Ishtar Yasin Gutiérrez in Costa Rica. 

Since its creation in 1998, it has produced 12 films, including short films, creative documentaries, and two feature films. 

 

The feature film “El camino” (2008) is a co-production between Costa Rica (Astarté Films) and France (Gedeon Programmes). This films obtain 15 international awards, and have been part of the Official Competition and Official Selection of more than 60 international festivals, including six major festivals: the Berlinale, the Cannes, Locarno, Mar del Plata, Tallin and Shanghai. Also obtained the support of the CECI Cinematographic Writing Center and the “Fonds Sud Cinemas” of the French Ministry of International Relations.

The feature film "Dos Fridas" (2018) is a co-production between Costa Rica (Astarté Films and México (Romanos Films). Was premiered in the Main Competition in Tallin Black Nights and won 12 internationals awards. Obtained also the IBERMEDIA Fund and FAUNO Fund for co-production.

Now is producing the feature film "Mohsen of Iraq", with Hassala Films from Egypt and Caractères Productions, from France.
